How it installs
Standard fittings, with the installation kit and the manual in the box. If your current tap unscrews from underneath in the normal way, this goes on the same way. Most people fit it themselves in an afternoon.
Changing the cartridge
The housing is transparent. When the cartridge has visibly darkened, swap it. How long that takes depends on your water and how much you run, which is why a fixed date is a poor guide. Run the filter on cold: heat shortens the life of the cartridge.

Why a transparent housing is the whole point
A filter only works while there is media left to work with. Past that it is a restriction in the pipe doing nothing, and you cannot taste the moment it stops. Most people find out months late.
Seeing the cartridge is the cheapest possible fix for that. It darkens, you replace it, and you are never running unfiltered water while believing otherwise.
